Starting with a background in evaluation, measurement, and verification (EM&V), Joe has over a decade of hands-on experience in energy efficiency consulting. His knowledge in analysis and modeling of energy-saving measures spans residential, multifamily, commercial, and industrial buildings. Motivated to dig deeper, Joe joined the Systems West team to explore opportunities to improve energy efficiency in facilities.
A licensed professional mechanical engineer, energy expert, and sustainable design advocate, Joe leads our energy division and interdisciplinary Advanced Design Team. He provides real-time energy modeling and integrated energy analysis for high-performance buildings. Collaborating across all of Systems West, Joe and the Advanced Design Team inform solutions to meet project sustainability goals, including LEED certification, Oregon SEED energy conservation, and custom utility-funded energy efficiency incentives.
In his free time, he’s something of a home chef, spending his time in the kitchen cooking and listening to music. You might also run into him at vibrant, local events, soaking up culture with his wife or hiking in the abundant nearby wilderness with their dog.
