Dixon Recreation Center has undergone numerous upgrades since 1996, and our firm has performed numerous mechanical and electrical projects throughout that time. The facility is home to both recreational spaces, as well as an aquatic center. The latest renovation in 2004 consisted of a 135,000-square-foot addition and remodel that included two gymnasiums, an elevated indoor running track, exercise rooms, indoor climbing gym, an aquatic center, and administrative offices. The aquatic center included a 25-meter lap pool, multi-use pool, and a spa.

Systems West provided commissioning services for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that included utility steam, heating water, chilled water, HVAC, heat recovery, controls, fire protection, electrical power, and lighting controls. In addition, our firm participated in natatorium upgrades that included retro-commissioning, as well as design of mechanical and electrical upgrades to improve interior lighting, indoor air quality, and to reduce energy consumption. Work included lighting replacement, air distribution upgrades, and automatic control system reprogramming and optimization. These modifications significantly improved the indoor environment and reduced steam consumption by more than 50%.
