Staying true to his Pacific Northwest roots, Michael earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from George Fox University. With a solid educational foundation in place, he embarked on a 12-year journey at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, honing his expertise in the intricate domains of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems. He played a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing complex projects as a project engineer and planning manager.
Leaning into his curiosity and drive for lifelong learning, Michael pursued a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Washington. It was during this academic pursuit that he discovered his passion for environmental sustainability and development, solidifying his commitment to aligning his career pursuits with making a positive impact on the world. Michael’s approach to life is characterized by a fearlessness to tackle new challenges.
Michael’s love for the Pacific Northwest runs deep as he grew up in the upper left, which encompasses hiking, camping, trailblazing, kayaking, and savoring leisurely dinners with friends. Beyond his professional achievements, he dedicates time to personal projects, including home remodels, landscaping, 3D printing, and spending quality time with his fiancé and their two dogs.
