OSU Dixon Aquatics

The Dixon Aquatics Center at Oregon State University recently underwent a 7,100-square-foot renovation to improve the functionality and efficiency of its pool water systems. Systems West Engineers conducted a thorough assessment of natatorium mechanical systems, focusing on piping, pumps, chemical systems, inline UV systems, sand filters, and the CO2 system.

Effective Collaboration

Throughout the project, consistent communication with OSU’s recreation facilities director allowed us to address concerns promptly and keep all consultants in strategic alignment. This collaboration was vital, particularly in navigating the complex challenges. Despite the quirks posed by the steam piping and the tight mechanical spaces, our team carefully planned and adjusted the integration of steam heat exchangers, connecting them to the existing piping and ensuring continued operation throughout the renovation.

Enhanced Facility Performance

The result of this comprehensive upgrade is a more reliable and efficient aquatic facility that meets the University’s needs. Our team’s expertise in managing complex mechanical systems, combined with our ability to adapt to evolving project demands, ensured that the Dixon Aquatics Center is now better equipped to serve OSU’s athletic programs and community users for years to come.
